Kingsley says

Kingsley Peh wrote this, '' The good news is that founders become more successful with each new venture. So entrepreneurship is not a one-time event, but a lifelong pursuit.

It is not one big grant, one big product and one big buy-out. It is a career. Except instead of changing jobs, you change businesses.

At the beginning of your career, start small, work hard and get results. Promotion will come in the form of more investment and better advisors.

If you can build your first business with little or no investment, ie bootstrap to Series A, imagine what you can achieve in your second business with a little investment. "

A milestone to remember ...

While lying the bed, my mind just kept thinking of so many issues. So I'm gonna pen it down here:) I'm going through some of the most amazing and challenges in my life.

I'm still learning how to cope with these opportunities and I'm thankful to have a super knowledgable mentor.

Whether it's a yes or no, it will still be a enriching experience. Being able to sit on a board table to negotiate with the big boys was something I never have thought would happen.

Honestly, I'm having alot of mixed feelings and it takes a lot of gut to make that decision. That decision will just change the whole ball game. But we got to make a choice...

I guess I just got to figure it out somehow or rather :)

Love,
Elfaine

YWLC’s “Get Inspired!” Evening – an International Women’s Day Event

Gaining inspiration from women who make waves

Singapore (6th March 2012) – In celebration of International Women’s Day
(IWD), the Young Women’s Leadership Connection (YWLC) will bring 9
successful women leaders and rising stars together with 100 aspiring young
women on one exceptional evening. Centered around the IWD 2012 theme
of ‘Connecting Girls, Inspiring Futures’, this event not only aims to inspire
ideas during the event, but also enable young women to create real impact
through the ripple effect.

Held on the 21st of March (Wednesday) in partnership with UBS Singapore,
YWLC’s “Get Inspired!” evening will provoke thought on three key areas - being
inspired to ‘create’, ‘change’ and ‘choose’. Speaking at this event are 9 of the most
inspirational women across Singapore’s Business, Community, Education and
Performing Arts landscapes. Amongst them are Madam Halimah Yacob, Minister
of State, Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports; Ms Jessica Tan,
Managing Director of Microsoft Singapore; Ms Jean Yip, founder of the Jean Yip
Group and Mrs Yeong Phick Fui, Managing Director and Senior Advisor, Vice
Chairman's Office, UBS Wealth Management and Swiss Bank.

In a refreshing departure from the lecture-style format, this event will allow
participants to get up close and personal with their inspirators by connecting with
them in smaller roundtable sessions. Each speaker will also share an impactful, 5-
minute story on how she has been inspired to make a difference in her chosen field.

Through the event, YWLC hopes for participants not only to be inspired in terms of
ideas, but for them to channel inspiration into action, inspiring other girls around them
in turn. As such, concrete avenues for change will be launched by their Community
Engagement wing in the next few months, including an exciting collaboration with the
CARE Network. With that, YWLC aims to kick-start a new chain of ripples which may
help others to make waves in turn.
